        | Oryctolagus cuniculus, the European rabbit, is also the species of
the common domestic rabbit. Native to Iberia and southwestern
France, the European rabbit has been introduced to all inhabited
continents and is frequently regarded as an invasive species.
Although frequently thought of in popular terms as rodents, rabbits
belong to the order Lagomorpha, though the clade Glires (sometimes
referred to as a grandorder) includes both Lagomorpha and Rodentia. | | | |
