BrainMaps Community  »  News  »  AJAX implementation of multiresolution image viewer

#1 2007-07-08 23:02:29 by Admin, (Administrator)

A new implementation of the multiresolution image viewer in AJAX is now available (click on the http://brainmaps.org/ajax.gif icon beside the thumbnails).   Though it is currently skimpy on functionality compared to the Flash viewer, it is noticeably faster, particularly when dragging the image.

See example at http://brainmaps.org/ajax-viewer.html?path=http://brainmaps.org/HBP2/c.aethiops/AGM1/AGM1-highres/350/&height=78181&width=92160

The AJAX image viewer is now the default viewer when browsing images.  For example, see http://brainmaps.org/ajax-viewer.php?datid=95&sname=123 . On most browsers, the mouse scroll wheel will zoom.

The old Flash image viewer is still accessible from the "misc" menu in the upper right hand side of the new AJAX image viewer.

A screenshot of the AJAX image viewer is shown below:

new search features and a Pubmed parsing feature have been added.  Note that the Pubmed parsing feature can take up to a few seconds to complete your query.

zooming has been fixed in the AJAX viewer, so that now it's centered.
